Going out, 42 Street... New York, New York in-between the real skyscrapers founding myself in a movie again. King Kong is climbing on the Empire State Building. I am in the 1930s.
Few blocks and Le Courbousier gives me the chance of working in another time machine for a whole week. In the United Nation Building, outside the conference room nr. 1, where the 3rd commission on Social Development is taking place, discussing youth issues. I am definitely in 1946.
I go upper east, for some tourism, which is always a good thing to do in order to be part of the rest of the crowds. The Salomon Guggenheim Museum stands still on the 88 St. & 5 Av. I am in 1955, as well as in 1965 with Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground for their Light and Sound Show.
Go down, I am in a Bruce Lee movie in Chinatown, in Little Italy and I am in a Mario Merola “sceneggiata” and in Orchand Street there is Salvatore (Pizza da Rosiario) there i am timeless listening to the hearth of New York beating. Overall I could easily be in the 1960s there.
I am in 1977 in the punky area of East Village (St. Mark Place).
I go West, Greenwhich Village, the gentrification of the area spread during the 1980s all around the area, now it includes already NoHo, SoHo, NoLita (North of Little Italy), with the Lower East Side just on the edge (being the cool, alternative place which was greenwhich few decades ago).
I am definitely in the 1990s in Midtown Times Square, Nasdaq screens reminds of the financial bubbles of those roaring years. Then down, down.... Getting lost, getting lost in the urban 20th Century.... until the end of that Century, Ground Zero, 11 September 2001.
This is definitely an archeological city nowadays.
